150 150 REHEAT PET Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) has the ability to be reheated and reused easily. The PET chips are reheated and filtered to remove contamination. The result is chopped in smaller similar resins which is a new recycled raw material. I USED TO BE A CAR The first step in aluminium recycling is the collection and careful sorting of aluminium scrap from various sources. Proper sorting is essential for high-quality recycled aluminium. Post-consumer scrap comes primarily from end-of-life consumer products and vehicles. Aluminium cans are a major source. CASTING INTO DISCS The molten recycled aluminium is cast into solid discs. These round discs are used directly to produce an aluminium bottle. An extrusion machine presses the discs into a long cylindrical shape. PRE-TREATMENT AND MELTING Shredding and crushing reduce the particle size of the scrap and liberate it from other materials, while granulating produces fine particles ideal for melting. Thermal decoating removes coatings such as paint and plastic. Once pre-treated, the aluminium scrap undergoes melting and liquid metal treatment to produce refined aluminium alloy suitable for casting.
